CALIFORNIA (Oct. 9) – The Vulcans scored late in the first half before recording a 1-1 tie versus Pitt-Johnstown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility on Wednesday evening

• California (2-4-4, 0-2-2) earned its first tie in the series with UPJ since the 2019 season.
• The Vulcans nearly took the lead in the 38th minute when a header by
Paul Morelli was saved by a defender by the Mountain Cats.
• Cal later claimed a 1-0 lead at the 43:17-mark when freshman
Eloi Vellvehi scored his first career goal on a free kick.
• The Mountain Cats tied the score in the 66th minute on an unassisted goal.
• The Vulcans narrowly missed breaking the tie at the 87:25-mark when a header deflected off the crossbar.

• California tied a season high with 13 shots, including six on goal.
