Terrell sets season high with 30 points; Vulcans shoot over 50 percent for second time this year

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (Jan. 13) – The Vulcans allowed just 12 points in the first half while cruising to a 74-53 victory at Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) women's basketball team improves to 11-4 overall with a 6-3 record in league play.
• The Rock drops to 1-10 this season behind a 1-7 mark under first-year head coach Ryenn Micaletti, who played at Seton Hill from 2007-11.
• The Vulcans have won the last seven meetings in the series with The Rock.

STATS
• Redshirt senior Dejah Terrell set a season high with 30 points on 14-20 shooting while playing 28 minutes.
• She also tallied eight rebounds (three offensive), six blocks and two steals in the win.
• Terrell has scored at least 30 points four times while with the Vulcans (previously played at Albright).
• Junior Sierra Bermudez finished with 14 points behind three-of-five from beyond the arc and three assists in 18 minutes off the bench.
• Freshman Nina Shaw collected 11 points, two rebounds, seven assists and two steals on Saturday.
• Classmate Kimaya Williams registered four points, eight rebounds (five offensive) and four assists in a season-high 17 minutes off the bench.

GAME ACTION
• The Rock scored the opening basket of the game at the 8:05-mark before the Vulcans mounted a 22-2 run over the remainder of the first quarter.
• Terrell scored 12 points in the opening quarter, as Cal shot 10-of-17 from the floor (58.8 percent).
• The Vulcans opened the second quarter on a 15-5 rally to extend the lead to 28 points, 37-9, with 2:20 left before halftime.
• Cal tallied the final eight points of the quarter to seize a 45-12 lead at the break.
• The Vulcans held The Rock to only a .217 field-goal percentage (5-of-23) and forced 13 turnovers in the first half.
• Cal led by as many as 36 points multiple times in third quarter and held a 65-32 lead at the end of the quarter.
• The Rock closed the game on an 11-2 run over the final four-plus minutes, 74-53.
• The Vulcans shot 50.8 percent (32-of-63) from the floor, their second-best mark of the season.
• Cal held a 35-27 rebounding advantage behind 12 offensive rebounds and scored 40 points in the paint.
• Rock freshman Regan Atkins finished with 20 points on 7-12 of shooting.
• Classmate Anye Robinson collected a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds (three offensive).
