CALIFORNIA (Sept. 30) – Facing the top-scoring team in the league, the Vulcans dropped a 5-0 contest to No. 19 Gannon at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play on Saturday afternoon.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) men's soccer team falls to 3-5-1 overall with a 1-1 mark in divisional action.
• The Golden Knights remain unbeaten and improve to 8-0-1 this season with a 2-0 record in league play, scoring five goals in both wins.
• Gannon extended its winning streak in the series to six games, plus has won seven-straight meetings at California dating back to 2011.
GAME ACTION
• Gannon scored a trio of goals in a span of eight minutes midway through the first half, starting at the 13:36-mark with a goal by Tinashe Katsande.
• The Golden Knights took a 3-0 lead into the break following a goal by James Pool in the 21st minute.
• Pool added his second goal of the game, and seventh of the season, at the 80:37-mark off an assist from Katsande.
• Gannon scored its final goal just under two minutes later with Katsande collecting an assist for his fourth point of the contest.
