CALIFORNIA (Oct. 4) – In its final non-conference action of the year, the California (PA) men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss against Shippensburg on Wednesday evening at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans drop to 3-6-1 this season behind a 2-3-1 record at home.
• The Raiders improve to 4-3-2 overall after earning their second road win of the year following an upset victory at then-No. 18 West Chester on Sept. 20.
• Shippensburg has been unbeaten in the last four meetings in the series with the last contest at Cal resulting in a double-overtime scoreless tie in 2018.
GAME ACTION
• The game was scoreless in the first half on Wednesday despite the teams combining for nine shots, including four on goal.
• The Raiders scored the game-winning goal in the 57th minute when Dalton Shifflett scored his first goal of the year on a header.
• Shippensburg held an 8-3 shot advantage in the second half and finished the game with an 11-9 edge.
• Sophomore AJ Visco set a season high and tied a career high with six saves against the Raiders.
