Men's Soccer falls at Pitt-Johnstown, 2-1

Bilous scores team-leading fourth goal in 61st minute; Gretz collects third assist in five games

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (Oct. 7) – The Vulcans tied the score early in the second half on Saturday afternoon before being dealt a 2-1 defeat at Pitt-Johnstown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) men's soccer team falls to 3-7-1 overall with a 1-2 mark in league action.
• The Mountain Cats improve to 3-3 this season and also sit with a 1-2 record in divisional play.
• UPJ snapped a 16-game winless streak (0-15-1) in the series with Cal, as its previous victory was in 2008 when the Mountain Cats were members of the WVIAC.

GAME ACTION
• UPJ took a 1-0 lead late in the first half when Jaeger James scored on a free kick in the 30th minute.
• The Vulcans tied the score at the 60:14-mark on a goal by freshman Andriy Bilous with an assist from classmate Jacob Gretz.
• The Mountain Cats registered the game-winner in the 71st minute on a goal by Jonathan Merli.
• Sophomore AJ Visco played all 90 minutes in the contest and faced 12 shots.

NOTES
• Bilous leads the team with 10 points this season on four goals and two assists.
• He has scored all four goals over the last five games.
• Gretz has also collected three assists, plus scored two goals, over the last five games.
