California falls on the road to IUP, 2-1

Bromiley scores goal in closing minutes; Vulcans play third road game in 11 days

INDIANA, Pa. (Sept. 27) – The Vulcans were unable to overcome an early goal on Wednesday afternoon while dropping a 2-1 contest at IUP in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) women's soccer team drops to 2-5-1 this year behind a 1-4-1 mark in league play.
• The Crimson Hawks improve to 3-3-1 overall with a 3-3 record in divisional action.
• IUP has won seven of the last 11 meetings (7-1-3) against Cal dating back to the 2015 campaign.

GAME ACTION
• The Crimson Hawks raced out to a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute on a header by Julia Csernyik off a corner kick.
• IUP eventually extended the lead at the 73:05-mark on a goal by Elle Smith.
• The Vulcans avoided the shutout in the 89th minute when sophomore Reagan Bromiley scored her second goal of the year, unassisted.
• Junior Emily Ouimet was credited with one save while facing nine shots on Wednesday.
