Romeis scores second goal in three games; Ouimet finishes with five saves versus Mountain Cats

CALIFORNIA (Sept. 20) – The Vulcans erased a deficit shortly after halftime before suffering at 2-1 loss against Pitt-Johnstown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility on Wednesday evening.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) women's soccer team falls to 2-3-1 this season behind a 1-2-1 mark in divisional play.
• The Mountain Cats earned their first victory of the fall and improve to 1-5-1 overall with a 1-4 record in league action.
• UPJ has won six of the last eight meetings in the series dating back to the 2018 campaign.

GAME ACTION
• The Mountain Cats held a 1-0 lead at the break following an unassisted goal by Haley Neidig, a two-time All-PSAC West selection, in the 14th minute.
• Cal tied the contest at the 50:07-mark with the second goal of the season from junior Lorina Romeis following a feed from sophomore Christyana Sims.
• UPJ reclaimed the lead when Neidig tallied her fifth goal of the year, second-most in the PSAC, in the 69th minute.
• Junior Emily Ouimet finished with five saves while facing nine shots on Wednesday.
