CALIFORNIA (Sept. 19) – The Vulcans earned a pair of wins at the top of the singles lineup while suffering a 4-3 loss versus Ashland (Ohio) on Tuesday afternoon at Roadman Park in non-conference action.
RECORD/SERIES
• The California (PA) tennis team drops to 1-3 this fall in dual matches with all four at Roadman Park.
• Ashland improves to 3-1 this season under first-year head coach Eric Gibson, who previously served as head men's and women's tennis coach at Chestnut Hill (Pa.).
• The Vulcans and Eagles last met during the fall portion of the 2009-10 campaign at an indoor facility.
MATCH NOTES
• Ashland earned the doubles point despite not fielding a full doubles lineup.
• The Vulcans and Eagles split the six matches in the singles session with the match being decided at the fifth position.

Diletta Maria Mungo remained unbeaten in singles this fall after posting a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the first slot.

Leandra Guldimann registered a 6-4, 6-2 win at second singles over Ana Penteado, who was an All-GMAC Second-Team selection as a freshman last spring.
