Vulcans battle to tie with Seton Hill, 1-1

Romeis records first goal with program; California earns initial point in league standings

CALIFORNIA (Sept. 13) – The Vulcans played to a 1-1 tie versus Seton Hill on Wednesday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) women's soccer team moves to 1-2-1 this season and earns its first point in the divisional standings this year with a 0-1-1 mark.
• The Griffins also stand at 1-2-1 overall behind a 0-2-1 record in league play.
• Seton Hill features a first-year head coach in Riley Butler, who was hired in mid-June after previous stints in Pennsylvania as an assistant coach at Pitt and Saint Francis.
• The Vulcans hold a 4-2-1 mark in the series with the Griffins since the 2019 campaign.

GAME ACTION
• Cal took a 1-0 lead on its initial shot attempt of the game in the eighth minute when junior Lorina Romeis placed the ball in the top right of the goal with an assist from classmate Ashley Venezia.
• The Griffins tied the score in the 21st minute following a corner kick.
• Junior Emily Ouimet made three saves while facing six shots in the contest.
