LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 16) – California (PA) senior Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) shattered a pair of all-time league records and recorded the fastest time in the country this year in the 100-meter dash over the weekend while at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell.

Franklin smashed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) all-time record in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash while at Bucknell. She posted a blistering time of 11.27 seconds in the 100 meters, finishing only one-hundredth of a second behind an entry from Youngstown State, who has won four individual Horizon League titles. Franklin boasts the top NCAA Division II time in the 100 meters this spring by seven-hundredths of a second and eclipsed her own school and league mark that was set three weeks ago by 0.28 seconds. The Philadelphia native cruised to the victory in the 200 meters by over seven-tenths of a second after crossing the finish line with a staggering time of 23.13 seconds. Franklin destroyed the all-time conference record set by Shippensburg standout Leah Graybill two weeks ago by 0.52 seconds after the previous mark of 23.83 seconds stood for over two decades. The 5-foot-10 standout crushed her school record set at last year's championships in the 200 meters by a whopping 0.79 seconds. Franklin currently sits third on the national performance list in the event behind only the top-two finishers at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Senior Beyoncé Kelly (Edgewood, Md./Harford Technical) matched her outdoor lifetime best while winning the high jump over the weekend. She won the event for the third-straight week after clearing a height of 1.73 meters (5-8.0 feet) on her first attempt at the mark. Kelly previously reached the height during the outdoor season at last year's NCAA Championships and in 2019 while at the scholastic level. The Maryland native holds the third-best mark in NCAA Division II this spring behind a pair of entries at 1.75 meters (5-8.75 feet).

Junior Malia Anderson (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) established a pair of collegiate-best times while at Bucknell. She finished second overall in the 1,500-meter run with a personal record of 4 minutes, 42.67 seconds, which is the third-best mark in the PSAC this year. Anderson crossed the finish line with a time of 2:13.18 in the 800-meter run to improve her league-qualifying mark by over 2.2 seconds. The Greensburg native now sits second on the conference performance list in the event during the outdoor campaign.

The 4x400-meter relay of sophomore Taylor Timmons (Butler, Pa./Butler), Franklin, Kelly and Anderson set a season-best time after crossing the finish line in 3:52.79, which is second-best in the league this season. The Vulcans finished fourth overall in the relay at Bucknell behind a pair of NCAA Division I programs.

As an individual, Timmons rounded the track in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.28 seconds to improve her conference-qualifying time by over 1.2 seconds. Senior Sydney Urbine (Centerville, Pa./Beth-Center) and junior Madeline Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) both reached league standards for the first time this spring. Urbine posted a time of 2:21.57 in the 800 meters, while Curtis set a personal record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:49.24.

Freshman Alice Etienne (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) improved her PSAC-qualifying mark in the triple jump with distance of 11.50 meters (37-8.75 feet) on her third attempt. Junior Quintasia Streeter (Brentwood, Pa./Brentwood) set a season-best distance in the event with a mark of 11.32 meters (37-1.75 feet) on her third attempt. Etienne and Streeter both rank among the top-10 on the league's performance list in the triple jump.

Senior Darcie Frazier (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) finished fifth in the heptathlon over the weekend with 4,045 points. She established personal records in both the 100-meter hurdles and javelin throw while competing in the heptathlon. Frazier finished as high as third in the shot put with a heave of 10.53 meters (34-6.75 feet), plus placed fourth in the long jump and javelin throw.

Cal returns to action at the Mountaineer Showcase hosted by West Virginia on April 21-22 in Morgantown, West Virginia, at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park.
