Vulcans post win over Shippensburg, 67-45

Terrell sets season highs with double-double; Cal finishes with a plus-18 rebounding advantage

CALIFORNIA (Dec. 18) – The No. 17 California (PA) women's basketball team allowed just two points in the fourth quarter while posting a 67-45 win over Shippensburg on Monday evening at the Convocation Center in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans improve to 8-1 overall with a 3-0 mark in league play.
• The Raiders drop to 1-8 this season behind a 0-3 record in conference action.
• Cal earned its first win in the series since the 2017-18 campaign, as Shippensburg won the previous two contests.

STATS
• Redshirt senior Dejah Terrell recorded her second double-double of the year, setting season highs with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
• She shot 7-of-13 from the floor and added three assists while playing a season-high 32 minutes.
• Freshman Nina Shaw posted 13 points behind three-of-six from long range, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
• Sophomore Alicia Young added 14 points and five rebounds on Monday.
• Junior Allycia Harris registered 11 rebounds (six offensive), two blocks and two steals in the win.

GAME ACTION
• The Vulcans held a 14-4 lead at the 2:42-mark in the first quarter.
• Shippensburg went nearly nine minutes without a field goal in the opening quarter.
• Cal held a 14-7 lead at the end of the quarter before Shippensburg scored six of eight points to cut the deficit to 16-13 with 6:52 left in the first half.
• The Vulcans posted a 7-2 run late in the second quarter before taking a 31-26 lead at the break.
• The Raiders tied the score at 34-34 at the 7:16-mark of the third quarter and held a 41-40 lead with 1:11 remaining in the quarter.
• Cal held a 45-43 lead at the end of the quarter before scoring 13-unasnwwered points in the fourth quarter to seize a 58-43 lead with 4:22 remaining.
• The Vulcans later scored the final nine points of the game to claim a 67-45 victory.
• Cal finished the game shooting 41.7 percent (25-of-60) from the floor.
• The Raiders were held without a field goal in the fourth quarter (0-for-15) and shot at just a 24.2 clip (15-of-62) in the loss.
• Cal registered a plus-18 rebounding advantage (52-34) on Monday.
• Shippensburg graduate student Treasure George scored a season-high 22 points on 6-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-12 from beyond the arc.

• The Vulcans continue PSAC Crossover action tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 19, when they host Lock Haven at 5:30 p.m.
