CALIFORNIA (April 6) – After dropping the doubles point, the Vulcans rallied to capture a 4-3 victory over Frostburg State on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play at Roadman Park.
With the win, the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team improves to 7-4 this season while facing their fourth opponent from the Mountain East Conference (MEC). Meanwhile, the Bobcats fall to 4-7 overall after winning their previous two matches.
Frostburg State captured the doubles point after recording victories at the first and second positions on Wednesday. At the first slot, sophomore

Maria Del Mar Ojeda (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Americano De Cali) suffered a 6-4 loss to Lorena Pintar and Rabiatu Ladan. Senior
Fallon Winseck (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and freshman
Teodora Iacob (Bucharest, Romania/O'Neill CVI (Ontario)) fell to Immanuella Odiong and Madison Toothman by a 6-2 count at second doubles. Sophomore
Kylie Feltenberger (Polk, Pa./Franklin) and freshman
Olivia Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) captured a 6-4 victory at the third postion over Sydney Goering and Jen Dieterle.
The Vulcans rallied from the defciit in the singles matches, as they captured four wins on Wednesday to secure the match victory. At the first position, Duran suffered a 6-1, 6-2 loss to Pintar and Del Mar Ojeda earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Odiong at the second slot. Winseck collected a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ladan at third singles, while Feltenberger dropped a 6-3, 6-4 match to Toothman at the fourth slot. At fifth singles, Anastos captured a 6-0, 6-2 win over Goering and Iacob tallied a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Dieterle at the sixth position.
Cal U returns to action tomorrow, Thursday, April 7, when it hosts Salem in non-conference play at Roadman Park, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
