Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) was named Outstanding Track Athlete and helped the Vulcans tie for second place at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships – the highest finish in school history in track & field.
The California University of Pennsylvania women's track & field team totaled 76 points in the standings at the league championships. The Vulcans scored points in nine different events over the weekend, compared to 13 events for Slippery Rock which also tied for second at the conference meet. Edinboro captured the indoor league title with 96 points behind four individual crowns in distance events.
Franklin earned a pair of league titles on the final day of the PSAC Championships, highlighted by breaking the all-time conference record and championship record in the 200-meter dash. She has now claimed eight league titles in her career after winning three crowns at both the 2020 indoor and 2021 outdoor championships.
A native of Philadelphia, Franklin broke her own all-time conference, championship, facility and school record in the 200 meters with a time of 24.53 seconds. She won the race by over a staggering five-tenths of a second while eclipsing her previous marks set at the 2020 league championships by 0.13 seconds. Franklin also repeated as the conference champion in the 60-meter dash on Sunday after setting championship and school records during the preliminaries yesterday. She posted a time of 7.54 seconds in the finals to win the 60 meters by just one-hundredth of a second.
Junior
Kailee Bunyard (Columbia, Md./Atholton) broke the school record and claimed the conference title in the 60-meter hurdles on Sunday. She won the event by over one-tenth of second with a blistering time of 8.95 seconds after being an All-PSAC honoree in the 100-meter hurdles last spring. Bunyard eclipsed the indoor school record of 8.99 seconds set by Courtnee Whitaker at the 2012 conference meet.
Fellow junior
Beyoncé Kelly (Edgewood, Md./Harford Technical) earned All-PSAC laurels in the high jump for the second time in her career. She finished second in the event after clearing 1.69 meters (5-6.50 feet) on her first attempt at the height.
Junior
Malia Anderson (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) placed third overall in the 800-meter run to receive All-PSAC status after crossing the finish line in 2 minutes, 19.29 seconds, which was nearly five-tenths of a second faster than her qualifying time. Anderson earned All-PSAC Second-Team status in cross country during the fall.

Anna Ebersole (Pottstown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and freshman
Tatum Hoffman (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) scored in the high jump at the league championships on Sunday. Ebersole placed fifth in the event with a mark of 1.59 meters (5-2.50 feet) on her second attempt and Hoffman finished seventh after clearing 1.59 meters (5-2.50 feet) on her final attempt.
Sophomore
Quintasia Streeter (Brentwood, Pa./Brentwood) scored in the triple jump by finishing sixth with a distance of 10.96 feet (35-11.50 feet). Fellow sophomore
Madeline Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) set a personal record in the 1-mile run on Sunday after posting a time of 5:25.91.
In the final event of the league championships, the 4x400-meter relay of Kelly, Franklin, freshman
Taylor Timmons (Butler, Pa./Butler) and junior
Tatyana Young (Marion, Ohio/River Valley) finished sixth with a time of 4:06.17.
