California places 11 on All-PSAC West Teams

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Nov. 16) - The California (PA) football team placed a total of 11 players on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Teams, including six first-team selections, on Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore kicker Anthony Beitko (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport), senior offensive lineman Noel Brouse (Slatington, Pa./Parkland), junior linebacker Noah Dillow (Alum Bank, Pa./Chestnut Ridge), junior wide receiver JaQuae Jackson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic), senior defensive back Kavon Morman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) and senior offensive lineman Bryce Perkins (Gettysburg, Pa./Delone Catholic) were chosen to the All-PSAC West First-Team on Wednesday.

Beitko received All-PSAC West laurels for a consecutive year, as he was a second-team honoree in 2021. As a sophomore, he again led the league and ranked ninth in the country with an .846 field-goal percentage (11-of-13). Beitko finished second among PSAC kickers with 75 total points after also converting 42-of-43 PAT attempts this fall.

The tandem of Brouse at left tackle and Perkins at center were anchors for an offensive line that helped the Vulcans finish among the top five in the conference in scoring offense and passing offense, while more than doubling their rushing total from last season. Perkins was an All-PSAC West First-Team selection for a second-straight year.

Dillow repeated as an All-PSAC West First-Team selection this fall. He set a career high and ranked among the top 10 in the league with 92 tackles (45 solo) as a junior. Dillow tied for second on the team with 9.5 TFL, including 3.5 sacks, and also tied for the team lead with two interceptions.

In his second year as a starter, Jackson was one of the most prolific wide receivers in NCAA Division II this fall. He led the PSAC and ranked seventh in the country with 1,178 receiving yards, which also ranks as the fourth-most in single-season school history. Jackson also finished as the league leader with 77 receptions and ranked second in the conference with 12 receiving touchdowns, both of which are among the top 10 in the nation.

Morman finished fourth on the team and led the secondary with a career-high 41 tackles (29 solo). He also tallied 4.0 TFL, 1.0 sack, one forced fumble and four pass break-ups in his second season as a starter.

Senior defensive lineman Gerald Brown (Duquesne, Pa./West Mifflin), senior defensive lineman Derick Korboi (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby), sophomore running back Eric McKan III (Washington, D.C./Bullis (Md.)), freshman punter Clayton Rosensteel (Donora, Pa./Ringgold) and junior linebacker Matt Tobey (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) were each tabbed to the All-PSAC West Second-Team on Wednesday.

Brown and Korboi anchored the defensive line for one of the elite rushing defenses in the country, as Cal ranked third in NCAA Division II by allowing just 57.8 yards per game. Brown - an All-PSAC West First-Team selection in 2019 - ranked third on the team with 42 tackles (18 solo) and tied for second with 9.5 TFL, including 4.0 sacks. Korobi - an All-PSAC West First-Team honoree last fall - set career highs with 28 stops (nine solo) and 7.0 TFL.

In his first season as a starter, McKan ranked third in the PSAC with 11 rushing touchdowns.  He also led the team and finished among the top 15 in the league with 587 rushing yards on 138 carries.

Rosensteel finished fifth in the conference with 38.0 yards per punt this fall. He placed 11 of his 43 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line and 18 punts resulted in a fair catch.

Tobey repeated as an All-PSAC West Second-Team selection for a consecutive year. He ranked second on the team with 66 tackles (34 solo) while pacing the team with a career high of 12.5 TFL, including 5.5 sacks. Tobey also registered an interception and two forced fumbles this season.

The Vulcans featured their most All-PSAC West selections since the 2016 campaign. Of the 11 selections, six players received honors for the second time in their career and five players were seniors this season. The Vulcans tied for the third-most players lauded on the All-PSAC West Teams in 2022.
