CALIFORNIA (March 8) – The California University of Pennsylvania athletic department will host a dedication and ribbon cutting for renovated Lilley Field tomorrow, Tuesday, March 9, prior to the scheduled season-opening softball doubleheader against Gannon.
The Vulcans are set to play their first home contest at Lilley Field since April 30, 2017 – a span of 1,409 days. Cal U played the entirety of their schedule on the road in both 2018 and 2019. The field was ready to debut in the spring of 2020 before the season was halted prior to league play due to the COVD-19 pandemic.
The updates to the facility were extensive with Lilley Field now featuring new dugouts, bullpen and batting cages, fencing and warning track.
The ribbon cutting ceremony at Lilley Field is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. followed by a ceremonial first pitch prior to the doubleheader starting at 2:30 p.m.
Cal U encourages all spectators to review the athletic department's
spectator policy prior to attending the event.

live video of the pregame ceremonies and games will be available courtesy CUTV.
