CALIFORNIA (Sept. 18) – The Vulcans surrendered three goals in the second half on Wednesday night before dropping a 4-0 contest versus Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.
With the loss, the California University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team falls to 2-2 this season behind a 1-2 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Fighting Scots improve 2-2 overall with a 2-0 record in league action after opening the season with consecutive losses.

Abbey McComb (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) in the box in the sixth minute, but her shot was saved in front of the goal by the Fighting Scot goalkeeper. At the 8:28-mark, Cal U saw a scoring chance from freshman
Lindsie Galbreath (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) sail wide left from the net before a corner kick was unable to produce a shot moments later. Both teams trade possession midway through the first half before Edinboro saw a shot hit the post from Mary Sinan in the 39th minute. The Fighting Scots managed three more shots in the closing minutes of the first half and held a 5-3 shot advantage at the break.
Junior goalkeeper
Gianna Sinatra (Moon Twp., Pa./Moon) collected a pair of saves in the opening 15 minutes of the second half to keep the Vulcans within a goal of the lead. Edinboro would control possession offensively through the rest of the contest and added to the advantage at the 76:28-mark on a header from Manns, her second goal of the game. Just under five minutes later, the Fighting Scots increased the lead to 3-0 in the 81st minutes on a goal from Sidney Dobbins on a give-and-go at the front of the net. Audrey Taylor scored the final insurance goal for Edinboro in the final minute of the match on a cross into the box from the left side, 4-0.
