SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (April 24) – Facing a regionally-ranked opponent, the Vulcans fell by a 7-0 margin at Slippery Rock on Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
With the loss, the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team drops to 5-9 overall behind a 1-4 record in divisional action. Meanwhile, The Rock improves to 15-7 this season and completed an undefeated 6-0 mark in league play. Slippery Rock remained third in the latest Atlantic regional rankings this week and clinched the top seed from the PSAC West in the upcoming conference tournament.

McKenzie Wilson (Traralgon, Australia/St. Paul's Anglican) suffered a 6-1 loss to Allie Welch and Lauren Fadden at third doubles.
Slippery Rock claimed the match victory by winning all six singles matches on Wednesday. In the first slot, Weisen was forced to retire in the initial set against Cohen due to injury, while Ganahl fell by a 6-1, 6-1 count versus regionally-ranked Lugmayr in second singles. Gallagher suffered a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Page at the third position and Wohar dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision at the fourth slot. Alexa Uhlyar (Finleyville, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) fell in straight sets by a 6-0, 6-0 margin versus Welch.
