CHEYNEY, Pa. (Dec. 4) – Junior guard
Miki Glenn (Bridgeport, W.Va./Bridgeport) scored a game-high 23 points to eclipse the 1,000-point mark on Friday evening, as the No. 12 California University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team posted an 88-62 victory at Cheyney in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action.
With the win, the Vulcans improve to 6-1 overall behind a 5-0 mark in league play. Cal U is the last team in the 18-team league to remain undefeated in PSAC action. Meanwhile, the Wolves remain winless this season at 0-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Glenn tallied 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. She also added five assists in the victory while recording her fourth 20-point game of the season. Glenn is the third player under head coach
Jess Strom to reach the 1,000-point milestone and the first since former teammate
Emma Mahady (2011-15) accomplished the feat last season.
Sophomore
Seairra Barrett (Center Twp., Pa./Central Valley) scored 17 points on 8-of-12 attempts from the floor and led the team with nine rebounds, while junior
Precious Martin (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) added 14 points on Friday. Sophomore forward
Shatara Parsons (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) finished with 10 points and eight rebounds (five offensive) in the victory.
Cal U continues its weekend road trip tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 5, when it travels to face Millersville at 1 p.m.
