CHEYNEY, Pa. (Dec. 4) – Behind a double-double by senior forward
Richard Smith (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran East), the Vulcans earned a 69-53 win at Cheyney on Friday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover play.
With the victory, the California University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team improves to 3-5 this season with a 2-3 mark in league action. Meanwhile, the Wolves fall to 1-5 overall behind a 0-4 conference record.
Smith led all players with 18 points and 13 rebounds for his third double-double of the year and ninth of his career. He made 8-of-14 attempts from the field and also registered four blocks on Friday night.
Sophomore
Luka Andjusic (Belgrade, Serbia/Borislav Petrov Braca) added 17 points on five-of-nine shooting with three treys off the bench. Senior
Nate Bellhy (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) finished with eight points and four rebounds, while four other players finished with at least five points in the victory.
The Vulcans continue their weekend road trip tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 5, when they travel to face Millersville at 3 p.m.
