CALIFORNIA (Sept. 28) – The Vulcans allowed a pair of goals in the first half on Sunday afternoon before suffering a 2-1 loss against Chowan in non-conference action at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.

With the loss, the California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team falls to 2-5-1 overall. Meanwhile, Chowan, which competes as an independent, improves to 5-2 this season.

Following halftime, the Vulcans trimmed the deficit to 2-1 in the 56th minute when senior Jeffrey Kyei (Tübingen, Germany/SIT Tübingen) scored off a cross from classmate Brad Colvin (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) from eight yards out.

Senior goalkeeper Shane Donovan (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East) made a pair of saves while playing all 90 minutes for the eight-consecutive game. Chowan goalkeeper Marco Lujan finished with three saves in the win on Sunday.
