ELKINS, W.Va. (Oct. 12) – In their final non-conference game of the season, the Vulcans allowed a goal in each half while suffering a 2-0 loss at Davis & Elkins on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the California University of Pennsylvania falls to 3-7-1 overall after losing three of its last four games. Meanwhile, Davis & Elkins improves to 5-5-1 this season after winning four of its last five contests.
The Senators took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half with a goal by senior James Pucci, who led NCAA Division II with 27 goals last season, on a penalty kick. D&E added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute on an unassisted goal by freshman Simon Hestad.

Shane Donovan (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East) tallied a pair of saves while playing all 90 minutes. D&E goalkeeper Daniel Nock posted eight saves to record the shutout.
Cal U out-shot D&E by an 11-9 margin despite the Senators attempting seven shots in the second half. Both teams finished the game with four corner kicks.
The Vulcans return to action with a three-game homestand over a span of six days, starting on Friday, Oct. 17, against Lock Haven at 4 p.m.
