PITTSBURGH, Kan. (Jan. 25) – The trio of California University of Pennsylvania senior offensive lineman Rishaw Johnson (Hammond, La./Hammond), senior wide receiver Thomas Mayo (Reston, Va./South Lakes) and junior defensive back Rontez Miles (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) recently received Don Hansen All-America laurels.

Mayo was named a First-Team All-American and Miles was tabbed a Second-Team All-American, while Johnson garnered Honorable Mention All-America accolades.

Mayo led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and ranked second in NCAA Division II with 16 touchdown receptions. He also finished fourth in the country with 1,359 receiving yards – second-most in school history – on 79 catches. A transfer from Concord, Mayo posted his third-straight 1,000-yard season to finish his career ranked No. 11 all-time in NCAA Division II with 4,249 receiving yards.

Miles set career highs this season with 71 tackles (51 solo) and five interceptions. He led the team and tied for third in the PSAC in interceptions, while posting 6.0 tackles for loss (TFL), 13 passes defended, eight pass break-ups and two blocked kicks. Miles has also received All-America honors this year from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Associated Press (AP) and D2Football.com.

One of the team's captains, Johnson started 12 games at right guard this season after playing the last three years at Ole Miss. He helped anchor an offensive line that yielded only 17 sacks while setting school records for pass attempts and passing yards. Johnson was also recently selected a First-Team All-American by D2Football.com.

The Don Hansen All-America Teams carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away in 2010. Hansen started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America Teams for the first time in 1988.
