BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Feb. 6) – Junior Danielle Morrison (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and freshmen Erin Kling (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown), Farath Raphael (Long Island, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) and Skye Sankey (Butler, Pa./Butler) all established indoor school records for the Vulcans at the Indiana Hoosier Invitational in the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse on Saturday.

In addition to the four school records, the California University of Pennsylvania women's track & field team qualified six new entries for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Championships from Feb. 27-28 in Edinboro, Pa.

Competing in the first invitational of her career, Kling set a school record and qualified for the league championships in the 5,000-meter run. The Jamestown, N.Y. native crossed the finish line second overall with a time of 18 minutes, 46.73 seconds to break the record set by Brittney Kanach in 2008 by over six seconds.

Raphael set the school-best mark in the shot put for the second time this season, breaking the mark set by classmate Samantha Minich (Clinton, Pa./South Side Beaver) just last week. Raphael won the shot put at the Hoosier Invitational with a heave of 12.59 meters (41-3 3/4 feet) to rank as the third-best mark in the PSAC this season. The freshman from Long Island also won the finals of 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.59 seconds after finishing the preliminaries with a time of 9.76 seconds.

Meanwhile, Minich finished third in the shot put at IU with a throw of 11.09 meters (36-4 3/4 feet).

Morrison and Sankey both broke the indoor school record in the pole vault by clearing 3.05 meters (10-0 feet). The previous mark of 3.04 meters (9-11 3/4 feet) was set by Morrison in 2008.

Graduate student Clare McSweeney (Cork, Ireland/St. Aloysius) won the 800-meter run by over 15 seconds and qualified for the PSAC Championships with a time of 2:17.64.

In the 200-meter dash, freshman Jordyn Reagan (Masontown, Pa./Albert Gallatin) and sophomore Sandy Estep (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) finished fifth and sixth overall, respectively, and both qualified for the league championships in the event. Reagan crossed the finish line in 27.07 seconds while Estep was close behind at 27.12 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomores Shakeria Love (York, Pa./Central York) and Jerica Snedden (Carrolltown, Pa./Cambria Heights), along with McSweeney and Estep, finished second overall with a season-best time of 4:01.11.

Freshman Shantae Motley (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) posted a time of 1:01.85 in the 400-meter dash to qualify for next month's league championships, while sophomore Khyalyani Whitaker (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) qualified for the championships with a time of 9.89 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
