McClurg was chosen the Male Athlete of the Year after being selected a consensus All-American and a First-Team Academic All-American as a sophomore. He became the program's first NABC All-American in over two decades while being voted the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. McClurg ranked among the top-10 in the country in scoring at 22.6 points per game while posting 20 games of at least 20 points, including six 30-point games. The West Virginia native was chosen the PSAC West Athlete of the Year in his second season as a starter and was a league finalist for the Pete Nevins Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.
