Root won a combined four events (two relays) over the weekend, as California posted a pair of dual wins over Lock Haven while in its first action since before Thanksgiving. She reached the PSAC-qualifying mark in the 100 breaststroke and won the event by almost three seconds by touching the wall in 1 minute, 10.77 seconds. Root also claimed the victory in the 200 breaststroke by over four seconds with a time of 2:37.99. The Lancaster native also was a member of the winning 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams over the weekend at Hamer Hall.
