Beam reached a pair of PSAC qualifying marks for the initial time on Saturday while competing at the Western Pennsylvania Invitational hosted by Pitt. She posted the team’s fastest time this year in the 50 freestyle after touching the wall in 25.04 seconds to place seventh overall in a field of nearly 50 swimmers. Beam also qualified for the league championships in the 100 freestyle by recording a time of 56.12 seconds, which ranks second-best on the team this winter.
