With over 15 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, Jenni Morrison enters her fourth year as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Cal U and seventh overall since returning to her alma mater in 2014.

Morrison originally served as the Assistant to the Athletic Director for Business at Cal U for three years prior to her promotion in 2017. Prior to returning to Cal U, she spent seven seasons with the athletic department at Defiance (Ohio), a NCAA Division III program, including the last four years as the Director of Athletics and Compliance Officer following a season as Co-Interim Athletic Director with the Yellow Jackets.

At Cal U, Morrison processes and monitors athletic scholarships while managing all business aspects of the athletic department. She assists the athletic director in developing policies and procedures for the department and making decisions on final NCAA certification of student-athletes. Morrison serves as a liaison for human resources in overseeing clearances for the entire athletic staff and summer camp workers.

Morrison has served as a member of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Regional Advisory Committee since 2016 and assumed committee chair responsibilities last year. Additionally, she has been a member of the PSAC SWA Group since 2017.

While at Defiance, Morrison was responsible for all operations of an athletic department that featured 22 intercollegiate sports. She managed all budgets within the department and served as the compliance officer for the Yellow Jackets. Morrison assisted in gameday management, hired athletic staff and conducted coaching evaluations and coordinated contracting transportation for the department. She aided in the expansion of the athletic department with the addition of men’s and women’s swimming and diving and men’s and women’s lacrosse, plus helped increase the school’s recruiting and operating budgets.

Morrison initially served as Assistant Athletic Director and Compliance Officer with the Yellow Jackets for two years. She implemented NCAA Life Skills (previously CHAMPS/Life Skills) programming and served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor, as well as being responsible for NCAA and conference compliance.

A native of West Virginia, Morrison started her career in athletic administration as the Athletic Director at Penn State-Fayette for three years. She was responsible for the development, management and coordination of an athletic program that included six teams. She directed and administered departmental programs and services for student-athletes and the university community.

Morrison has the unique distinction of being part of both NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship teams at Cal U. She was the team’s graduate assistant in the 2003-04 season when the Vulcans finished 35-1 overall following a victory over Drury (Mo.) in St. Joseph, Missouri. Morrison later served as the team’s administrator when Cal U closed the 2014-15 campaign with an 84-69 win against California Baptist in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Prior to her coaching stint, Morrison was a basketball player in the PSAC at both Slippery Rock and Cal U. She helped The Rock advance to the Elite Eight in 2000, as the team posted an 11-win improvement and matched the school record of 23 victories. Morrison then transferred to Cal U for her final two seasons and helped the program win back-to-back PSAC Championships with an Elite Eight appearance in 2003.

Morrison earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management from Cal U in 2002 and received her master’s degree in business administration in 2004. She also recently completed a certificate in Student Affairs Practice from Cal U.

Morrison resides in Morgantown, West Virginia.
