Ben Hilborn

With professional experience at the NCAA Division I level and with multiple NFL franchises, Ben Hilborn is in his 11th year as the Equipment Manager at Cal U.

Hilborn provides services for all 18 intercollegiate programs at the university. His primary responsibilities include team orders, inventory control, equipment maintenance and budget assistance. Hilborn serves as a liaison with vendors to discuss team needs, deadlines and item availability.

Prior to Cal U, Hilborn spent one year with the Equipment Services Office at Pitt following stints with two NFL teams. He was the primary contact for the women’s soccer, wrestling, softball and gymnastics teams while at Pitt. Hilborn served as an intern with the Atlanta Falcons in 2007 and spent time with the New York Jets before transitioning to a career in intercollegiate athletics.

Hilborn was a member of the soccer team while a student at Cal U and played under head coach Dennis Laskey, a 2021 inductee into the Cal U Athletic Hall of Fame. He also served as a student manager for the football team.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Cal U in 2005 and holds Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) certification.

Hilborn and his wife Mindi, a former assistant athletic trainer at Cal U, reside in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, with his two children Keagan and Mikayla.
