A former four-year player at Ashland University, Alethea Lamberson enters her second season with the California University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball program as a graduate assistant.
Lamberson finished her Eagle career as one of the top point guards in school history, finishing with 419 career assists. As a senior in 2008-09, she ranked No. 13 in the nation with a 2.11 assist-to-turnover ratio. Lamberson helped lead the Eagles to an appearance in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament after winning seven of their final nine games during the regular season.
In 2007-08, she scored a career-high 8.4 points per game and collected 111 assists. She finished second in the conference and No. 16 in the country with a 2.06 assist-to-turnover ratio. Ashland posted a 19-11 overall record and advanced to the GLIAC Championship after defeating Gannon and Ferris State in the conference tournament.
In high school, she was a three-sport standout at London (Ohio) High School, playing basketball, track & field and soccer. On the hardwood, she was a two-time, first-team all-league selection and was a three-time all-county player. During her senior season, Lamberson led the conference in points, assists and steals en route to being an honorable mention All-Ohio selection. For her career, she eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau.
Lamberson received her undergraduate degree from Ashland in Sport Management in 2009 and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in sport management from Cal U.
