Stephani Moore begins her second season as an assistant on the California University of Pennsylvania softball staff after a five-year stint as head coach at Washington & Jefferson College, a Division III program in nearby Washington, Pa. Moore she is responsible for working with Cal U pitchers and outfielders.

While at W&J, Moore elevated the Presidents from a last-place team in the conference to a conference title in just four seasons. After 19 wins in her first two seasons, she guided W&J to a 21-win season behind five all-conference players in 2005. The following season, the Presidents claimed the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship with a 25-15 mark, including an appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southern Championship. She finished her W&J tenure in 2007 following a 19-15 season, a second-place finish in the PAC Championship and another selection to the ECAC Championship.

Prior to her stint with the Presidents, Moore began her coaching career as an assistant coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College. While with the Bobcats, she worked with the pitchers and outfielders and West Virginia Wesleyan made a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. Under Moore’s coaching, Adrianne Mertz earned West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Pitcher of the Year honors in 2001 and 2002.

A 2000 graduate of Robert Morris University, Moore was a standout as a pitcher/outfielder on the diamond for the Division I Colonials. She helped lead RMU to over 100 victories during her playing career, including a school record 34 wins in 1997. Moore finished her collegiate career among the all-time school leaders with a .315 batting average, 39 wins, 2.92 earned run average, 510.2 innings pitched and 276 strikeouts.

Prior to her freshman year at RMU, she was selected for an all-star team who competed against the 1996 Team U.S.A. Olympic Team.

She completed her undergraduate degree from RMU in long-term health care management before earning her master’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan in business administration.

Moore and her husband Chad reside in Canonsburg, Pa., with their infant son, Colin.
