A recent graduate with international playing experience at the scholastic level, Joshua McCray enters his second season as a volunteer assistant at California (PA) in the 2024-25 campaign.
McCray played the previous four years at Grove City following time in the United Kingdom. As a freshman, the Wolverines captured the 2020 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. McCray helped Grove City return to the 2021 PAC Championship before appearing in all 26 games with 14 starts as a junior.
While at Grove City, McCray served as an athletics intern and basketball coach with Urban Impact Foundation in Pittsburgh. This summer, he served as a player development specialist at Pure Hoops Academy in Wexford, Pennsylvania.
McCray moved overseas prior to high school. He graduated from Ashville College, which is approximately 15 miles north of Leeds, in the United Kingdom.
Originally from Maryland, McCray earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Grove City in 2023. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree from PennWest in sport management.
