Mike Kellar

Mike Kellar enters his fifth season as the offensive coordinator with the California University of Pennsylvania football program. Under his guidance, the Vulcans have produced the top three seasons in school history in both total offense and points.

Kellar's offense has produced two of the last four PSAC Offensive Player of the Year recipients - running back Antoine Bagwell in 2004 and 2005. During his four years at Cal U, he has coached 13 different all-PSAC West performers, including five all-conference players last season.

Last year, the Vulcan offense ranked among the national leaders with 378.0 yards of total offense per game, 206.9 rushing yards per game and 35.9 points per game. During the historical 13-1 campaign, senior quarterback Joe Ruggiero established new school records for single-season touchdowns (25) and career touchdowns (67). The offense also featured a potent tandem in the backfield with Daine Williams and Brandon Lombardy, as the duo combined to rush for 2,056 yards and 21 touchdowns.

A native of Shinnston, W.Va., Kellar originally attended Glenville State College and started at quarterback for the Pioneers. He then transferred to Fairmont State University, where he started his senior season for the Fighting Falcons.

He earned his undergraduate degree in liberal arts in 1996 from FSU before receiving his master's degree from West Virginia University in safety management.

Kellar started his coaching career at his alma mater, Fairmont State. During his eight years as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, the Falcons won a pair of West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) championships.

He then accepted the offensive coordinator position at Northern Michigan University in 2002. During that season, the Wildcats set school records for passing attempts, completions and yards before finishing second in the conference in 2003 in both total offense and passing yards.
