A former reserve quarterback with the program, Erick Taylor enters his first season as an offensive assistant at California (PA) in 2022.

Taylor was a member of the Vulcans from 2016-18 before playing the 2019 campaign at West Liberty. As a freshman in 2016, Cal captured the PSAC Championship and advanced to the Super Region One Championship in the NCAA Playoffs. The Vulcans finished with an 11-1 record and led the country in scoring offense at 49.6 points per game. Taylor appeared in one game during the 2017 season, as Cal again advanced to the NCAA Playoffs.

in 2019, Taylor played in seven games and made a pair of starts at quarterback for the Hilltoppers. He earned his first career starter in Week 8 at Fairmont State and started again the following week against Urbana. Taylor finished with over 450 passing yards and five touchdowns, plus one rushing score, while at West Liberty.

Taylor was a three-sport athlete at the scholastic level while attending North Catholic. He played for former NFL linebacker Jason Gildon and earned all-league honors as a senior. Additionally, Taylor was a member of WPIAL Championship basketball team and member of the baseball team at North Catholic.

A native of Pittsburgh, Taylor completed his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Cal in 2021. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree at Cal in sport management.
