A veteran coach in Washington County, Darrin Dillow begins his first season on staff at California (PA) in 2024.

Dillow spent the past five years as an assistant coach at nearby Washington & Jefferson, a NCAA Division III program, following a four-year stint as the head coach at California Area High School.

While at W&J, Dillow served as the defensive line coach while the Presidents posted a 37-11 overall record with four appearances in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Bowl Games. W&J earned at least eight victories in each of his four full seasons and played in the 2020 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship.

Dillow mentored a combined nine All-PAC selections with the Presidents, including four-time honoree Keith Knowell who finished his career with 34.5 TFL. In 2022, W&J ranked third in the country in sacks per game behind the All-PAC First-Team tandem of Dawson Dietz and Alex Keith. The duo combined for 36.0 TFL and 22.5 sacks with Dietz leading the league with 23.5 TFL and Keith pacing the conference with 11.5 sacks.

At the scholastic level, Dillow led California to three appearances in the WPIAL Playoffs with conference championships in both 2017 and 2018. The Trojans closed the 2017 campaign with 12-1 overall record and advanced to the WPIAL Class A semifinals.

Dillow holds degrees from West Virginia, Cal and Pittsburgh.
