A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Quinn McGrath begins his first year on staff at California (PA) in 2025.
McGrath enlisted in the Navy in the summer of 2017 and served as an Intelligence Specialist (IS). He was initially stationed at the Fleet Intelligence Detachment in Washington, D.C., and gained certifications as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst. McGrath was deployed in December of 2019 on the USS Bataan in support of freedom of navigation and show of force operations in the Arabian Gulf. He trained new accession sailors in the practices and disciplines of being an IS.
Later, McGrath spent two years in Coronado, California, at the Naval Special Warfare Mission Support Center working in support of SEAL Teams, Special Boat Teams and Special Reconnaissance Teams across the globe. In 2023, he finished six years of service with an honorable discharge, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, two Good Conduct Medals and one Fleet Letter of Commendation.
McGrath was a two-sport athlete at the scholastic level in Minnesota, playing both baseball and hockey. He currently serves as a coach with Pittsburgh Hardball Academy and specializes in player development. Additionally, McGrath has coaching experience at the scholastic level in both Maryland and Pennsylvania, including at Taylor Allderdice High School in 2024
He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Duquesne.
