A former three-year member of the program, Bobby Thompson enters his first year as a volunteer assistant coach at Cal U in 2019.
Thompson played the last three seasons with the Vulcans after initially starting his college career at Saint Vincent College and Westmoreland County Community College. He posted a .347 average and a .487 slugging percentage with 32 RBI and 32 runs scored while playing at Cal U.
As a senior, Thompson appeared in 38 games with 27 starts (18 right field) and hit at a .375 clip with three homers, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored and nine stolen bases. In 2016, he helped the Vulcans return to the PSAC Tournament while being a two-way player. Thompson made 19 starts in the field and also made 12 relief pitching appearances that season.
Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management and a minor in marketing. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree from Cal U in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship.
