CALIFORNIA (Sept. 8) – Behind a season-best hitting percentage and a balanced offense, the Vulcans earned a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-13, 25-23) against Point Park on Tuesday evening at the Convocation Center in non-conference play.
NOTES
• California (2-5) was making its home debut after playing six matches over the previous two weekend on the road.
• The Vulcans have played the Pioneers in each of the previous three seasons after the programs previously had not faced each other since 2013.
• Cal posted a season-high .296 hitting percentage with five players collecting at least six kills.
• Sophomore
Olivia Weiseman led the team with 13 kills on a .233 clip, while adding eight assists, nine digs and three blocks in the victory.

Alayna Jones and freshman
Madelyn Salisbury both finished with seven kills and Jones registered a .538 attack percentage.

Molly Smiddy posted a team-high 19 assists, while classmate
Gracen Hartman added nine assists.

Abby Tucker totaled 9.5 points behind six kills, two service aces and three blocks.
