GREENSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 3) – The Vulcans were shut out for the first time since the 2003 season while suffering a 29-0 loss at Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.
NOTES
• California (2-3, 0-2) has lost back-to-back meetings to Seton Hill after winning the previous 12 all-time meetings, including six-straight on the road.
• The Vulcans have dropped three-consecutive games for the first time since the 2003 campaign.
• Cal previously scored in 247-consecutive games dating back to the final week of the 2003 season.
• The Vulcans managed just 22 offensive yards on 52 plays with only five first downs.
• Senior linebacker
Wilfredo Diaz led all players with 12 tackles (five solo), his third game with at least double-digit stops.
• Junior linebacker
Tajuan Bandy made nine tackles with 2.0 TFL, 1.0 sack, one interception and one forced fumble.
• Junior defensive lineman
Courtney Dunn, Jr. added eight stops, while junior linebacker
Malachi Thomas finished with five tackles, 2.5 TFL and one forced fumble.
• Seton Hill, which committed four turnovers inside the red zone, finished with 491 yards of total offense and maintained possession for nearly 39 minutes.

• The Vulcans halted the Griffins on their first possession of the game with an interception by senior defensive back
Amory Thompson in the end zone.
• Late in the quarter, Cal and Seton Hill traded interceptions on back-to-back plays with Bandy intercepting a pass at the Cal 5-yard line.
• The Vulcans forced and recovered a fumble inside their own 10-yard line in the opening minutes of the second quarter.
• Seton Hill scored the initial points of the game on a safety with 5:25 left before halftime after an errant snap on first down went into the end zone.
• The Griffins followed with a 13-yard touchdown run at the 3:02-mark following the free kick.
• Cal forced a turnover on downs at its 4-yard line with less than 30 seconds remaining before halftime.
• In the final minute of the third quarter, Bandy forced a fumble that was recovered by Thompson at the Cal 6-yard line.
• The Griffins stretched the lead to 13-0 with an 11-yard touchdown with 11:41 left in the fourth quarter.
• Cal was intercepted on the second play of the ensuing drive and Seton Hill followed with a nine-yard touchdown run on third-and-goal at the 4:38-mark, 22-0.
• The Vulcans turned the ball over on downs on their next drive that led to the Griffins to taking a 29-0 lead on an 11-yard touchdown run with 1:54 left to play.
