CALIFORNIA (Oct. 3) – The Vulcans scored late in the first half before battling to a 1-1 tie against Clarion in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play on Saturday afternoon at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.
NOTES
• California (1-7-3, 1-7-2) and Clarion played to a tie for the first time in the series since 2017.
• The Vulcans broke a scoreless tie in the 42nd minute when freshman
Leila Benedetti scored her first career goal off an assist from sophomore
Alexis Brown.
• Clarion responded less than a minute later when Kelly O'Donnell converted a penalty kick at the 42:23-mark after Cal was whistled for a tackle in the box.
• The Vulcans set a season high with 17 shot attempts and finished with a 17-9 edge in shots.
• Cal also held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks in the contest.

Kaleigh Rexroad made two saves while playing all 90 minutes.
