The Crimson Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer by second baseman Jess Cekada. IUP extended the lead to a 4-0 margin in the fourth on a pair of RBI singles before stranding runners on second and third.

In the top of the fifth, the Vulcans opened the inning with three-straight singles and junior catcher Bailee Bertani scored on an RBI single by senior left fielder Carlena Fiorilli through the left side.
