WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 11) – The California (PA) baseball team claimed a split of a doubleheader against nationally-ranked Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at EQT Park on Friday afternoon with a 5-0 win in Game 1 before dropping a 5-1 contest in Game 2.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (23-6, 10-3) have won six of the last 10 home games in the series against the Griffins.
• Cal and Seton Hill are the lone teams in the PSAC West to have earned double-digit victories in league play this spring.

Santino Marra collected three hits to climb into sixth place all-time in school history with 203 hits, surpassing both Jason Foreman (1999-2002) and David Marucs (2013-17).
GAME 1
• Junior
Michael Valente (7-0) recorded his first career complete-game shutout.
• He scattered four hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 7.0 innings (75 pitches).
• Valente has tossed back-to-back complete games while posting the program's first complete-game shutout since April 2023.
• Cal took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-out RBI single by senior third baseman
Nathan Meeks.
• The Vulcans added to the lead in the fifth when Meeks belted a three-run homer, his fourth of the year.
• Cal added an insurance run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly.
• Valente forced the Griffins to leave four runners on base, including three in scoring position.
• Meeks finished with two hits and three RBI, while senior left fielder
Ryan Callahan tallied two hits and one run scored.

Peyton Ford posted a pair of hits in the win.
GAME 2
• The Vulcans were held to under three runs for just the fourth time this season.
• The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the first on a two-out RBI single before scoring two runs in the third on two singles and two walks, 3-0.
• Cal scored on a sacrifice fly in the fourth before Seton Hill countered with two runs in the top of the fifth.
• Marra registered two of the team's five hits to extend his hitting streak to nine games.
• Senior
Jackson Miller (4-2) suffered the loss after allowing four runs (all earned) on five hits and two walks in 4.1 innings (77 pitches).
