CALIFORNIA (Feb. 5) – Led by all five starters scoring in double-digits, the Vulcans claimed an 88-78 win against No. 9 Seton Hill at the Convocation Center in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play on Wednesday evening.
NOTES
• California (12-10, 8-7) earned its first win over a nationally-ranked team since Jan. 3, 2024, snapping an eight-game losing streak against top-25 opponents.
• The Vulcans remain fifth in the divisional standings with five games left in the regular season.
• Seton Hill (19-3, 13-2) dropped into a tie for first in the PSAC West standings and hold just a one-game lead over third place.

Talia Gilliard scored a game-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a career-high five three-pointers.
• She also posted eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals while playing all 40 minutes.
• Classmate
Allycia Harris registered a double-double with a season-high 19 points and a team-leading 12 rebounds (10 offensive).
• She added four steals, two assists and two blocks in the victory.
• Fellow senior
Iyahnna Williams finished with 16 points, four rebounds and four steals on Wednesday.

Sierra Bermudez totaled 11 points and four assists, while junior
Alicia Young posted 14 points, five rebounds and three steals.
• The Griffins held a five-point lead twice in the first quarter before the Vulcans closed the quarter on a 14-6 run to claim a 24-21 advantage.
• Cal limited Seton Hill to only one field goal for over six-plus minutes in the second quarter to build a 40-29 lead at the 3:46-mark.
• The Vulcans led by a 42-36 margin at the break with the teams combining for just seven free-throws in the first half.
• Cal scored seven-straight points in just over a minute early in the third quarter to reclaim a double-digit lead and held a 66-55 advantage at the end of the quarter.
• The Vulcans maintained the double-digit lead until the final minute of play, extending the lead to as many as 16 points, 73-57, at the 7:09-mark of the fourth quarter.
• Cal finished the game shooting 50.0 percent (34-of-68) from the floor after making at least half of its attempts in three different quarters.
• The Vulcans also registered their second-best percentage from beyond the arc with a .538 clip (7-of-13) in the win.
• Cal collected 20 offensive rebounds and forced Seton Hill into a season-high 30 turnovers.
