EDINBORO, Pa. (Dec. 4) – Following a dynamic season on special teams, California (PA) sophomore return specialist
Deontae Williams was voted to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Region First-Team on Thursday afternoon.
As a first-team selection, Williams advances to the national ballot for D2CCA All-America consideration. He will be one of just four candidates eligible at the position of return specialist.
Williams leads NCAA Division II with 912 combined return yards this fall with three weeks remaining in the NCAA Playoffs. He also paces Super Region One and ranks third in the country with 34.0 yards per kickoff return, plus sits among the top 10 in the nation with 11.7 yards per punt return. He earned first-team honors at return specialist and second-team status at wide receiver. Williams ranks sixth in the league with 110.54 all-purpose yards per game. The 6-foot-0 sophomore finished the year ranked second on the team and among the top 15 in the PSAC with 516 receiving yards after making just one catch in 2024.
The Vulcans have featured at least one standout on the D2CCA all-region teams every season since 2004.
