Men's Basketball rolls past Charleston

Lucas sets career highs with 25 points, 17 rebounds; California mounts 23-2 run midway in second half

CALIFORNIA (Nov. 19) – Led by all five starters scoring in double-digits, the California (PA) men's basketball team victory rolled to a 90-60 victory over Charleston (WV) on Wednesday night at the Convocation Center in non-conference action.

NOTES
• The Vulcans (1-2) made their home debut while facing their third-straight opponent from the MEC.
• Redshirt junior Bryson Lucas scored a career-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc.
• He also added 17 rebounds for his fourth career double-double and tallied five assists, three steals and two blocks.
• Junior Dalman Alexander posted 17 points, eight rebounds (four offensive) three blocks and two steals versus the Golden Eagles.
• Sophomore Jordyn Buchanan finished with 15 points and four steals, while redshirt sophomore Antoine Arnett registered 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.
• Senior transfer Brayden Reynolds collected 13 points and four assists in the victory.
• UC mounted an 11-2 run early in the contest to build a 13-8 lead with 15:22 left in the first half.
• The Golden Eagles later held a three-point advantage before the Vulcans responded with an 18-5 rally over eight minutes to build a 39-29 lead at the 2:15-mark.
• Cal led by a 44-38 mark at halftime after UC made eight three-pointers in the first half.
• The Vulcans seized control with a 23-2 run midway through the second half to build a 69-43 lead with 8:48 remaining.
• Cal later stretched the lead to as many as 30 points, 90-60, with just over one minute left to play.
• The Vulcans shot at a 55.0 clip (33-of-60) from the floor and converted 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) from the free-throw line.
• Cal held a 42-26 rebounding advantage and committed just nine turnovers.

NEXT
• The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Nov. 22, when they travel to face Concord in Athens, West Virginia, at 3 p.m.
