Deontae Williams was chosen the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Special Teams Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Williams recorded a 94-yard kickoff return for touchdown on the opening kick of the second half on Saturday afternoon, as the Vulcans suffered a 38-30 loss at IUP in the 16th edition of the Coal Bowl. He finished the game with 158 yards on four kickoff returns and added 12 yards on two punt returns. Williams also eclipsed 100 receiving yards for the third-consecutive game, posting 108 yards on nine receptions.
A Woodland Hills product, Williams ranks second in the league and eighth in NCAA Division II with 564 combined return yards this season. He also sits fourth in the PSAC with 124.75 all-purpose yards per game and leads the conference with 33.8 yards per kickoff return. Williams ranks second on the team with 430 receiving yards on 27 catches after totaling just one reception in 2024.
Williams is the fourth different player to collect PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week laurels this fall. Additionally, he is the first return specialist from Cal to gather the weekly honor since the 2018 campaign.
The Vulcans play their final home game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they host No. 24 Frostburg State for Senior Day at Adamson Stadium.
