CALIFORNIA (Oct. 22) – The California (PA) men's soccer team attempted over 20 shots for the first time in more than two years while being dealt a 2-1 defeat by Pitt-Johnstown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility on Wednesday evening.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (2-9-1, 0-6) opened the second round of divisional action by facing the Mountain Cats.
• UPJ missed a penalty kick off the crossbar in the 14th minute before taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Jaeger James at the 21:38-mark.
• The Mountain Cats added to the lead in the 33rd minute when James assisted on another goal.
• UPJ entered the break with a 2-0 lead while attempting five shots in the first half.
• The Vulcans were unable to convert a penalty kick at the 55:06-mark.
• Cal trimmed the deficit in the 81st minute when senior
Brady Olsen scored an unassisted goal, his team-leading fourth of the season.

• The Vulcans held a sizable 21-6 advantage in shots, as the Mountain Cats managed just one attempt in the second half, and finished with a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
