CALIFORNIA (Oct. 18) – Playing its first home game in two weeks, the California (PA) women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest against No. 7 Gannon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility on Saturday afternoon.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (0-10-2, 0-7-2) were swept in the season series by the nationally-ranked Golden Knights with both losses coming by one goal.
• Gannon raced out to an early lead with a goal on its second shot of the game at the 5:11-mark.
• Cal answered in the 12th minute when junior
Soraya Gibbs capitalized on a three-on-one opportunity with her first goal of the year.
• The Golden Knights reclaimed the lead at the 15:39-mark on a penalty kick after the Vulcans were whistled for a foul in the box following a free kick from near midfield.

• Gannon held a 16-2 shot advantage and posted an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.
