Donald Whitehead, Jr. combined for over 50 points on Wednesday night, as the Vulcans rolled to a 94-64 win against Slippery Rock at the Convocation Center in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
NOTES
• California (8-8. 3-5) has won the last five home meetings in the series with Slippery Rock.
• Polak tied his career high with 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including four-of-seven from long range, and seven-of-seven from the free-throw line.
• He also added five rebounds and four assists in the victory.
• Whitehead set a career high with 27 points on 10-of-18 from the floor, including four treys, while playing 37 minutes.
• He also tallied three rebounds, five assists and three steals on Wednesday.

Keondre DeShields registered his first career double-double versus The Rock, finishing with 11 points and a season-high 15 rebounds off the bench.

• The Vulcans raced out to an 18-6 lead at the 13:40-mark after scoring 11-unanswered point.
• Cal out-scored Slippery Rock by a 29-4 margin over the final 8:32 of the first half to build a dominating 57-17 lead at the break.
• The Vulcans shot a blistering 56.4 percent (22-of-39) from the field in the first half while The Rock managed just seven field goals.
• Cal led by as many as 42 points twice in the second half with Slippery Rock trimming the deficit to as few as 30 points twice.
• The Vulcans finished with their highest point total in nearly two month after shooting 50.0 percent (33-of-66) from the floor.
• Cal held a plus-16 rebounding advantage behind 43 defensive rebounds on Wednesday.
