EDINBORO, Pa. (Jan. 25) – With both teams shooting over 50 percent, the Vulcans were dealt a 93-85 loss at Edinboro on Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
NOTES
• California (10-10, 5-7) won the previous eight meetings against Edinboro and suffered its first road loss in the series since February 2018.

Donald Whitehead, Jr. and redshirt junior
Cam Polak tied for the team lead with 21 points on Saturday.
• Whitehead, who also added six assists, posted his third 20-point performance over the last four games.
• Polak has scored at least 20 points eight times in the last nine games.

Jordyn Buchanan tallied 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including three-of-six from long range, plus finished with six rebounds (four offensive) and two steals.

Keondre DeShields registered 12 points and four rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench.
• The Vulcans held a 25-24 lead midway through the first half before the Fighting Scots scored eight-unanswered points over 90 seconds.
• Edinboro held a 45-42 lead at the break after both teams shot identical marks from the floor in the first half.
• The Fighting Scots stretched the lead to a 71-61 margin with 8:47 remaining before the Vulcans scored nine-straight points.
• Edinboro held a double-digit advantage with 39 seconds left to play before Cal cut the deficit to 90-85 with 17 seconds remaining.
• Cal finished the game shooting 50.7 percent (34-of-67) from the floor while attempting just six free-throw attempts.
• The Fighting Scots held a plus 21-rebounding advantage behind 17 offensive rebounds that led to 24 second-chance points.
