WASHINGTON, Pa. (May 3) – The Vulcans closed the season with a pair of extra-inning, walk-off wins on Friday afternoon against Pitt-Johnstown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Senior Day at Wild Things Park, winning 4-3 in Game 1 and before earning a 3-2 victory in Game 2.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) baseball team finishes the year with a 28-18 overall record behind a 14-14 record in divisional play.
• The Mountain Cats close the spring with a 19-30 record, including an 8-20 mark in league action.
• The Vulcans placed fifth in the PSAC West standings while finishing with a winning record in divisional play for the sixth-consecutive spring.

• The Mountain Cats answered with a pair of run in the fifth before Cal tied the score at 3-3 in the sixth on an RBI single by junior designated hitter
Nathan Meeks.
• UPJ stranded the bases loaded in the sixth before leaving runners on first and second in the next two innings.
• The Vulcans earned the 4-3 victory with a leadoff homer by junior left fielder
Ryan Callahan in the bottom of the eighth.

Jake Kramer (4-1) was credited with the win after retiring the lone batter he faced.

ACTION
• The Mountain Cats took the lead on a two-run homer in the top of the first before Jones scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning.
• Cal tied the score at 2-2 in the sixth when Callahan belted a solo homer, his team-leading fifth of the season, to start the inning.
• UPJ led off the eighth with an infield single and the runner advanced to third on back-to-back ground-outs before Kramer recorded the final out of the inning.
• The Vulcans earned the 3-2 walk-off victory on a bases-loaded single by Meeks to shallow left field.
